Author and co-author of over 50 scientific papers in the field of hernia treatment (including the Polish nomenclature and classification of hernias, the Polish Standard for Hernia Treatment, and epidemiological studies in the Pomeranian Voivodeship from 1997 to 2003).
Member of scientific groups responsible for introducing treatment standards for inguinal hernias (EHS) and laparoscopic treatment of abdominal hernias (IEHS).
Author of the worldwide classification of parastomal hernias.
Received a scientific achievement award at the European Hernia Society Congress in Turin in 2005.
Honored with the Rydygier and Schramm Medal (2014) for contributions to the Medical University of Lviv, honorary membership of the Ukrainian Hernia Society, and the title of honorary professor for contributions to the development of hernia surgery in Ukraine.
Awarded a diploma from the Prof. Szarecki Chapter for outstanding contributions to the development of Polish herniology (2014).
Earned a PhD in 2002 based on research on the use of synthetic implants in hernia surgery.
Currently leads six original research programs related to hernia repair.
Obtained habilitation degree (2014) based on a series of publications on the use of macroporous implants in inguinal hernia surgery.
